How do you feel about the legalization of marijuana?

I know marijuana is illegal, but why should it be? I’ve done some research on the benefits of marijuana and I was actually surprised at some of the things that I found.

First, marijuana is beneficial to the treatment of AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and glaucoma. Patients with these conditions who smoked marijuana as opposed to those who had them but did not smoke did not have as serious symptoms and got over the treatable diseases quicker.

Second, there has never been a death due to marijuana. In fact, the only deaths that involve marijuana always involve cigarettes, alcohol, or other substances that have been known to kill. There has never been an overdose, it doesn’t cause cancer, and it isn’t even half as bad as cigarettes are.

Third, marijuana is not as addicting as other substances such as cigarettes, alcohol, or other drugs like heroine. People who are addicted to marijuana have been cured much easier to those who are addicted to cigarettes or other illegal substances.

I myself am all for the legalization of marijuana. I am not a smoker, but I still feel that given the evidence, marijuana should be legalized. I want to know your opinions. Do you think that marijuana should be legalized? Why or why not?
