What could cause this kind of neuropathy?

I have been experiencing slight numbness (mainly tingles) in my toes, tops of my feet and up a part of my leg. when it begins to go numb I feel a weird coldish warmish feeling come over my feet (they are normal temp to touch tho) I also experience the numbness (not so much the tingles) on tops of my hands and pinkies. These sensations have occurred on both my right and leg sides, what is really strange about it is that is seems they are taking turns, i.e., my right leg will have these sensations for 2 days then my left leg…. I also wanted to add (I just found out this was also neuropathy) I have been having a burning sensation on the middle of my upper back (similar to what a sunburn might feel like but it’s like the burning is actually under my skin…?)

What is puzzling my neurologist is that these sensations only last for a few hours at a time. I can’t pinpoint any specific activity that could cause them, because it happens while Im at work, at home, relaxing… walking… really doesn’t matter.

I originally thought maybe I had a pinched nerve or something but since it is happening in random, multiple places that is unlikely. Diabetes (type 2) does run in my family, but I have had multiple blood sugar test all been great… my neurologist is having me do a hemoglobin A1C test to completely rule out diabetes.

I have also been experiencing extreme fatigue, dizziness ( lightheaded plus dizzy "spells" which feel like the room is spinning) and also some cognitive impairments, mainly can’t pull the words i want to say out of my head.

My doctor is doing an MRI of my brain, I am assuming to rule out Multiple Sclerosis. he told me he doesnt really think it could be that since the tingle and numbness is not lasting for more than 24 hours at a time.

I know it could be diabetic neuropathy, and I know you could also have neuropathy without diabetes… but what would cause that???

anyone have any ideas? I am so confused.

Thanks, and sorry I wrote so much, wanted to be thorough so you know what is goin on… :)
oh, also I am 23 yrs old, I have a 2 yr old son and this has been going on over 2 weeks now
I have also been more shaky than normal.. mainly in my hands… similar to the "jitters" you get after a few too many cups of coffee.

I also wanted to add (don’t know if this is related but started around the same time) I have been really cold and night and then wake up sweating soooo hot… similar to when you have a fever, but I have no fever. I also noticed that I have been sweating A LOT more when I go outside (I live in florida so it is burnin up out hre! lol)
